Official figures released by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) show that 115,981 motorcycles, scooters and all-terrain vehicles were sold last year – a decrease of 13.6 per cent (18,298 units) over 2008. ATVs were the only segment to have increased sales during 2009.

Hyundai ix35 Launch - First Drive

Hyundai had released the ix35 which is the replacement for the Tucson. The new ix35 is available in three trim levels, Active, Elite and top of the range Highlander. With a wide choice of engines and transmissions plus a range of premium features including rear camera, panorama glass roof and full iPod® integration, new ix35 brings ‘designer’ style and luxury to the compact SUV segment.
This is an AWD SUV that is set to shake up the market. It is chalk and cheese to the Tucson it replaces and if the Sante Fe and i30 didn’t make Hyundai’s competitors take notice the ix35 certainly will
We had the Lexus RX450h for about 3 weeks over the holidays. It transported all the family to Queensland, swallowed all the luggage and teenagers with ease and everyone arrived feeling relaxed.
On the trip I averaged 7.5L/100k, which was great considering the weight. The drive was comfortable, smooth and fuss free. The RX450h drove and handled more car like that SUV like and the more I drove it the more I started to really like it. In short it was great!
HUMMER H3… well what can we say about a vehicle that is just so out of sync with current trends in the automotive industry and yet invokes so much emotion. The bright orange Hummer H3 Luxury we drove for a week was in the top three vehicles for attracting attention from …. well just about everyone.
